Missing Some Logics
Analysis: The cause of revenge is mostly two types – personal & universal. Jawaan ticks both the boxes. Here the victim is the protagonist himself as the antagonist targets the protagonist & his own family. Writer-turned-director BVS Ravi has smartly infused personal angle into this larger-than-life story in order to bring ‘feel’ to audiences and instantly ‘connect’ with the hero’s situation.
The biggest strength of Jawaan is the confrontation of Jai and Keshava. The villain is smart, intelligent who uses his brain to take on the protagonist.
Thaman’s thumping background music compliments the visuals. Camera work is appealing. Songs are lavishly shot. Costumes are bright. Especially Sai and Mehreen sizzle in red costumes. Editing is good. Technically and theoretically, Jawaan gets it right. It is a perfect thriller with a good dose of drama, action, sentiment, romance, and humor. The kids (seen as the children of Jai’s brother) evoke laughs. On the whole, Jawaan is a must watch. It’s been a long time since such a nice patriotic film has come.
Final Verdict: Jawaan is a well-packaged film with a perfect blend of commercial elements and good, thought-provoking social message. Jawaan Movie Rating: 3.5/5
